Vice President, Business Development
Steve Godfrey joined SOHO HEALTH in June, 2014 as Senior Executive of Business Development responsible for revenue enhancement, payor relations, contracting, marketing, and overall business development.
Mr. Godfrey come to SOHO HEALTH with 25 years of executive experience in payor/provider relationships, healthcare finance contracting, reimbursement, and strategy. He began his career on the health plan payor side developing provider networks for Metropolitan Life across the United States and then moved on to direct all provider contracting activities for Community Health Care Plan (CHCP) and lastly served as Director of Health Plan Contracting for Kaiser Permanente’s Northeast Region.
For the past 16 years, Mr. Godfrey has held several senior positions working for health care provider systems. For 13 years, he was Vice President of Payer Relations for The Hospital of Central Connecticut where he was responsible for all contracting and payer relations activities. In this position, Steve also oversaw practice management and physician billing services as well as directed government relations and advocacy efforts. More recently, he held positions at Hartford HealthCare as Vice President of Decision Support and Analytics and Vice President of Payor Relations.
Mr. Godfrey graduated cum laude from Duke University and also holds a Masters degree from The Heller School for Social Policy at Brandeis University. Steve is an avid sports fan, is passionate about music, and in particular enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and cycling. Steve and his wife Tricia live in Cheshire, CT. They are very proud of their daughters, Marissa (a nurse in the neonatal unit at Yale New Haven Hospital) and Nina (who is attending Marist College).
